The Marriage Enrichment Group is a lay-led outreach ministry of Hope Lutheran
Church in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. The vision of this effort is to help married couples
have a lasting, supportive, love-filled marriage. It is a chance to focus on each other
in much needed time together. Your most important relationship is with God. Your
marriage is your next most important relationship.
Who: The Biblical definition of marriage is the union of one man and one woman.
Our enrichment group is for married couples of all denominations. Those without a religious affiliation are most welcome. Even when a marriage is going smoothly, there are always ways to make it better. Just like driving a car without routine maintenance can lead to problems, a marriage needs attention to stay on track. In these sessions, together as husband and wife, you learn how to be the best couple you can be. This group is for currently married couples.
What: It is a series of video sessions followed by discussion. It is for all marriages! The first six-week session will feature “Sacred Marriage” by Gary Thomas. Couples will watch a 20-minute video, then a lay leader will lead a discussion based on a study guide. No one will be put on the spot or required to participate in group discussion. The sessions will begin at 6:30pm and end by 8:00pm with light refreshments served.
Where: The sessions will be held in the fellowship hall in the lower level of Hope Lutheran Church located at 320 First St. S in Ladysmith. Use the entrance on Fritz Avenue and enter the doors under the canopy. Someone will be there to greet you.
When: There will be six sessions in this first series. They will be held Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on April 23, May 21, June 25, July 23, August 20, and September 17.
Cost: Each couple will need a participant guide that costs $12.95 each. When you register, we will place an order and have them available at the first session. There is no additional fee to attend.
What it is not: It is not couples therapy. There is no counselling available. We suggest you reach out to Hope Lutheran Church, the church of your choice or a professional counselor for marriages that are troubled or in crisis, that need significant healing and forgiveness. Pastor Martin is making himself available to couples who request one-on-one counseling. He can be reached by calling the church office at 715-532-7739 or email him directly at pastorcwmartin@gmail.com
We encourage married couples of all ages and stages to make the time to come closer together and learn the tools that will keep nurturing your love. The goal is to keep this group going with additional studies.
